Exclamation Kards for Kids at Kristmas! UPDATED 11/19/12
10/29/12 Update . . . .supplies needed to package. Will be going to local shop to buy team bags ($2.50 ea./100 per pack) but any help would be appreciated. Even if you can't donate cards, the supplies would be great. Thanks!

Hey guys and gals!

Inspired by the generosity and creativity of the trades posted here on the boards I came up with an idea that I'd like to try and get off the ground.

Short disclaimer: I know I'm new and I've heard some of you have been burned by idiots in the past. That's not what I want here.

I was organizing my 2012 Topps set and I realized that I have a ton of duplicate cards that I won't be able to trade away and will just be sitting around taking up space. My idea is thus:

Every year my church does an angel tree kind of thing at Christmas time to give kids in the Baltimore, MD area something for Christmas when they might not otherwise get anything. A lot of the requests from parents are for clothes and necessities, but almost every request includes some toys or such. I thought it would be neat to have enough packs of cards (50 per pack, more or less) to insert with each childs small bunch of gifts.

Any base cards from 2008-2012 that you'd like to donate would be great. 2012 Topps Series 1 & 2 is what I have the most of and all the cards I would be putting in would be cards valued under $0.99. I wouldn't be asking any of you for anything more valuable than that for donation. It would be a great way to give to less fortunate kids, clean out our collections, get kids interested in the hobby and continue the generosity I've seen displayed thus far.

So, let me know if you like the idea, if you've got some input, and if you'd like to participate. In addition to the cards if anyone wants to donate supplies (i.e. baggies to arrange the packs of cards) I'd be happy to take those too. I'll take care of arranging all the cards into packs and delivering them. PM me for my address and send as soon as you can. I want to get an idea of how many cards I'll have to package up and how.

Please note, this is not a request to beef up my collection. I have no interest in being some kind of schiester on here. I just really have been inspired and also have become passionate about this hobby in such a short amount of time.

Ok, that's all. Sorry for the long post, looking forward to seeing the interest in this.

Please mark your packages or include a note that indicates these cards are for the Kards for Kids at Kristmas. I have been trading with some of you and hope to trade at one time or another with all of you and don't want to get a trade mixed up with a donation. THANKS!

RE: Kards for Kids at Kristmas!
I just thought I'd drop a post and say that I have dealt with this guy on a few occasions already and he seems to be an asset to the boards. Just a friendly post to help out. Good Luck! I have no 2012 Topps left except my set or I'd love to help.

RE: Kards for Kids at Kristmas!
I love doing things like this, instead of limiting it to 12 topps, how about just making it topps base cards from recent years? say 08-12 (that way you'll likely have more people participate and not have to worry about one kid getting something amazing and the others feeling left out) but I'm in if you'd like to pm me an address

That'd be cool. I just was limiting to what I had in my collection so that folks wouldn't feel like I was trying to get free cards by deceiving them with a charity type post. I'll send you a PM shortly.

Thanks!

Please don't abbreviate this on flyers or any other items. ( ¬_¬)
I have a bunch of 2012 series 2 that I can send, but not until the end of this month or November.

Abbreviate? What the post title? LOL

Cool, thanks for throwing your hat into the ring. I'll send you my address near the end of the month.

Oh, SH*$ I didn't realize the abbreviation spelled out KKK. I was going with K to match with Kids. Wow. Just was trying to be creative with the name to help get attention to the post.

Anyone reading this, I meant no offense.
