Coming home from a State College Spikes vs Mahoning Valley Scrappers game again Thursday night(which btw Tyler Naquin has a cannon of an arm from CF.). We stopped at a WalMart we've never been to and they had a huge selection of cards and spotted '11 topps chrome and '11 Topps series 1 blasters at 40%off, so we raided the series 1 blasters and bought them all.

Upon opening the blasters, I wasn't expecting much. Kinda just breezed through them. When I was putting them away I noticed something...

We hit TWO Andrew McCutchen Sparkle SP's!!






I about crapped myself! I didn't even see it from quick glancing, it was until I remembered there were these SPs in series 1 when I saw a Jeter sparkle on the bay.

Can anyone figure out the odds on these? Not only that but getting TWO McCutchens?! I guess doing good deeds lately is paying off

That's AWESOME, Congrats! I thought I remembered some guys busting them out of blasters when the product first came out, but I could be wrong. Obviously, they do come in retail, I guess!

Also nice to get a PC hit. I once bought 2009 UDx retail that had the one jersey in each box. Normally got common stuff. I remember busting one and pulling a Jeter jersey. Still is the only Jeter jersey I have.

So you got 2 of the same card or there are 2 different cards and you got both?
I think I remember someone mentioning the sparkle cards before. You have to look for a little lens flare or something in the picture? or are these the diamond parallel where the entire card is silver/reflective. When I heard about the lens flare thing I wanted to look through mine again closer, but never got around to it. Do they have a serial number or anything other than the sparkle to make them stand out?

With the pics now added you can see where McCutchen's sparkle is. I'm guessing with the theme of "Diamond Giveaway" they printed a "diamond" on certain cards and added a "sparkle" effect around the diamond.

I'm now going to go look at the checklist and see who all has them and go back through every single card just in case I missed one.

Because man, that thing is tough to spot, you have to literally inspect the card!
