Anyway I turned his cards over to him before I could scan them so here's my results:

I'd say that you were pretty fortunate on some of the autos coming back 10's. They must have just made it to 10. They look like 9's to me. This is due to the lightness of the ink.

He got hammered on a Bryce Harper auto, an 8. I'd attribute the issues you're seeing though to my scanner. I have so many problems with it. I have to put the card on it, the lid doesn't close so I have to put stuff on the cards to cover it. Then since it's all wireless I have to walk back to the computer to type in a file name, then go back to the scanner to hold things in place while it scans.

Trying to talk my lady into a new one.

RE: Todays Slab Mail
Here's the two latest additions to my PC. I know that 99% of members here are Sports collectors but I collect Pokemon cards. I have enjoyed collecting Pokemon for 5 years now, and have been grading them for 2 years.

If you have any questions about these, please send me a PM!

Now, to my latest finds:

Rocket's Suicune ex PSA 8 (Marked)
Dark Magneton 1st Edition BGS 8

I don't normally purchase PSA cards but this one was cheap enough for me to pick up. Yet another example of PSA's messiness and unattractive labels. (Don't know why I even buy PSA cards any more.) The card was marked on the back, and has multiple scratches / indents / pen marks, yet still received an 8. Not sure why they even accepted it, let alone give it an 8.

Anyway, Rocket's Suicune ex Ultra Rare Holofoil, Graded PSA 8 NM-Mint (Marked)

Marking is on the back, top right.

Second is this Dark Magneton Holofoil (First Edition short print) Graded Beckett 8 NM-MINT picked it up for little to nothing. It's got some scratches / edge wear, but still a nice rare card.

I hope that everyone enjoyed these findings and if so, I will plan to post more in the near future! Thanks!

RE: Todays Slab Mail
I just received my BGS submission back today. I was happy with most of the grades. I like to guess what grade each card would get before I send them in...Adds a little fun/competition (with myself) Thanks for looking.

First, is my only Non-MJ out of the group.

Now The MJ's, Starting with some mid level 90's inserts
[Image: IMG_0510.jpg]

I Love this card...I'm now looking for the Team Leader of the same set
[Image: IMG_0512.jpg]

This card was labeled wrong so I sent it in. They fixed it for free

I just need one more First Day Issue MJ

Some of you might remember me asking about this MJ. Now I have a little more information to go off of. Still dont know where it came from.

These Next two cards I just had Re-Slabed due to marks all of the case...It was bugging me(Little OCD) and it was only $5 a card to be re-slabed.

AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...I sent this in to be Re-Graded and I'm So happy it's SILVER!!!

RE: Todays Slab Mail
arabiansnowgriz, Very nice cards & grades! Congratulations!

Also, I noticed that a couple of your slabs have scratches & scrapes on them. My submission that also returned just this week had some cards the same way, with scrapes on the slabs. Wonder why?

Just thought I'd bring this up.

Thanks! Yeah I noticed that when I put the pics up. The scrapes on the slabs dont look that bad in person. They can show up sooo easy on new cases! The two jordans in there I just had Re-slabed because it just looked to bad and took away from the cards itself.

Interesting stuff. It's always nice to see different/random things. I'm getting ready to send a couple MTG cards in with my next order actually.
Gideon Jura (New Phyrexia)(x2)
Sorin Markov (12th Ed.)
Seachrome Coast (Scars of Mirrodin)

I haven't had much graded besides hockey, I think 2 baseball cards lol. So it'll be nice to see something a little different come out of the box when I get it back from BGS.

I find some of the MTG cards are like "nerdy art", as opposed to a sports/player/team/popularity following. It just tends to a different niche of the collector's psyche Tongue I can't really picture myself collecting non

I'm a little curious how I'll feel about it once I have them slabbed and on display.

Thanks! I just like the artwork on Pokemon cards and the foil patterns and unique designs.

But, good luck on the MTG cards!

Now, here's a few more cards from my recent submission. A couple of NASCAR cards included.

Topps Die-Cut Venusaur, Extremely happy about the 9.5! It's really tough for these to get these a high-grade because the corners are really fragile.

Nice stuff again. Getting a good grade on die-cuts is always nice because as you said there's usually parts of them extremely prone to damage/degrading. There's a subset of Team Canada die-cut cards that I'm close to finishing and would love to get graded, but I'm a little apprehensive cause I don't want a collection of 8s, and I don't have a good read on how dings and whatnot effect die-cuts.

You can always request a minimum grade. This is where the card won't be slabbed if it doesn't meet the minimum that you've selected. Although, I think that you'll still be charged as if Beckett did slab it. People who do this, have Beckett slab the cards that don't meet the minimum, as Authentic (the blue label) OR as BCCG.
