It's Time For LeBron To Leave Upper Deck!
OK, I'm a huge LeBron fan and collector.

For the last two years, I have felt a void in my collection because he doesn't have any autos in his Miami Heat uniform (except for a facsimile insert from last year's Adrenalyn, but that really doesn't count).

Anyone know if/when his contract with Upper Deck runs out?

Could you imagine busting a box of Panini basketball sometime in the near future and pulling a triple auto of LeBron, Wade and Bosh? That would be crazy.

Closest thing I have is a Goodwin's Champions auto from last year, which shows him during 'The Decision' ... technically the moment he joined the Heat, but still doesn't really count IMO.

Or, how about a double or triple Panini auto with Durant and/or Griffin?

C'mon, LeBron, it's time!

I don't really know if I want him to sign with Panini. It's just like seeing MJ's sig on a Panini product. I would rather have Topps and UD back. I think most collectors feel the same way. Kobe's older auto's for UD and Topps have sold for more lately because collectors appreciate those products more IMO.

I collect LeBron, Jordan, Kobe and anything that catches my eye.

Monopolies ruin products.

Yeah, I actually don't care which company has them, I just want LeBron's autos in a Heat uniform.

Of course, people are eating up all the new Griffey autos he has with Topps now that he's not with Upper Deck anymore, so I don't know how much the brand loyalty thing really applies.

I miss variety, especially with the lockout situation/lack of rookies/lack of products this year ... if more than one company had made basketball cards this year, maybe there would have been some more creative ways around the lockout situation.

Agreed. See Basketball, 2011-12, for more on this. LOL

I agree completely!!! I have started to find that my interest in my PC has been on the decline. Autos are one thing but even the release of Heat patches has been minimal. From the huge number of Lebron cards there were to chase down before now there are hardly any.

I have added a few of the SVSM autos that I liked but am not going to be stacking the PC full of those.

I dont care if they are UD or Panini.. I just want some Heat autos!!!

Sad thing is, I sold his SPA rookie last summer, and I've regretted it ever since. So, the Goodwin's auto is the only one I have now.

Like I said, I don't care who had his autos, Upper Deck or Topps would be fine with me as long as he was in his Heat uni.

Sick game tonight, by the way ...
