some basic ? regarding card grading
I have never done any card grading before and I am thinking of sending some of my cards in to grade. May be this is a good topic for new comers that want to grade their cards, so here are some basic questions regarding card grading.
What do you do with your card to get a good grade? What kind of top loader you use before you submit your card? If you send in multiple cards, how do you stack them together? What kind of postage do you use? Register, insure, regular mail, delivery confirmation, etc... any opinions would help. thank. Congrats Dallas Mavs

RE: some basic ? regarding card grading
There isnt much you can do with your card beside making sure the surface is good IE no prints dust etc..if there is ill take a micrfiber cloth and wipe gently
Place them in a soft sleeve then in a semi rigid holder between cardboard then taped Stacked together is fine Usps first class with dc Hope this helps a lil Mainly looking for Kobe..DRose..Brandon Jennings..Demarcus Cousins TRADE BUCKET http://photobucket.com/trade-sell

RE: some basic ? regarding card grading
I would scan what I'm sending in and click "save". Just something I do a little differently.
Also, the submission form will offer several ways you can ship your product. How you send is up to you, penny sleeves with top loaders sealed in team bags is a good way. I would even go as far as attaching those little white hard plastic card dividers (used in jumbo boxes etc..). I usually apply two; one for the top and the other for the bottom. This way the card/s will not bend. Never had any issues or complaints with the way Ive ship my items in the past. Good luck! Just out of curiosity, what are you sending in? Hope it's worth it.

RE: some basic ? regarding card grading
I honestly have no recommendations as far as "cleaning" a card of fingerprints and such. I'm very finicky about my cards and don't touch them on the fronts or backs.
However, grading is pretty simple. I always prefer to put my cards in sleeves inside top loaders and then put a few of the top loaders in a team back and tape down the team bag. I'll even go so far as to tape the top of each top loader should the team bag come undone. As far as what size, one that the card fits into without having to push it down, but to where it isn't so loose the card is easily shaken. Also, when I send cards to get graded, I send them insured with DC. Anything insured $300 or more automatically requires a signature upon delivery. Take some scans of what you're thinking of sending in for grading and share with us if you don't mind. MODERATORTOS-Read it

RE: some basic ? regarding card grading
I just sent 20 and I didn't know this but beckett gave me a really good deal because it was my first time to send some in. I was only planning on sending 5 in. I called them before I sent them and I am glad I did the lady was very helpful and told me about the special. I put mine in a sleeve and top loader and taped the top to keep them from falling out then I put them in between cardboard, then I went to walmart and got the type of bubble wrap that you can put stuff inside and taped that also. I went to the post office and got one of those "if it fits one price ships box", packing peanuts to make sure they didn't move around and added insurance and had a signature on delivery confirmation. I got the 20 day grading service for $8 and $1 for the autographs. Plus they are deducting $50 from the total price.
This is the list of what I sent in for grading. 1. 1986-87 Fleer #57 Michael Jordan RC 2. 1996-97 Topps Holding Court #HC2 Michael Jordan 3. 1996-97 Topps Season's Best #SB18 Michael Jordan 4. 1996-97 Hoops Superfeats #1 Michael Jordan 5. 1997-98 Topps Chrome Topps 40 #T5 Michael Jordan 6. 1998-99 Upper Deck Ovation Jordan Rules #J6 Michael Jordan 7. 1998-99 Metal Universe Planet Metal #1 Michael Jordan 8. 2006-07 Upper Deck Hardcourt Game Floor #10 Michael Jordan 9. 2007-08 Chronology #160 Kevin Garnett AU 10. 2009-10 Upper Deck Draft Edition Alma Mater Autographs #AMKG Kevin Garnett/25 11. 2002-03 Topps Chrome Refractors White Border #25 Kevin Garnett 12. 1997-98 Finest Refractors #136 Kevin Garnett 13. 1997-98 Topps Rock Stars Refractors #RS12 Kevin Garnett 14.1986-87 Fleer #9 Larry Bird 15. 1986-87 Fleer Stickers #2 Larry Bird 16. 2007-08 Topps Echelon Autographs #LB Larry Bird/50 17. 2007-08 Ultimate Collection Materials Autographs #LB 18. 2006-07 Press Pass Legends Legendary Legacy Autographs Platinum #4 Larry Bird/25 19. 2009-10 Crown Royale Majestic Signatures #BR Bill Russell/49 20.1986-87 Fleer #27 Joe Dumars RC I collect Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Kevin Garnett also certain High End Celtics HOF's.

RE: some basic ? regarding card grading
Thanks man that 06-07 press pass is actually numbered only to 18 but only could find it listed as a 25 print run. I bought it from an individual and the back edges were not in the best condition so I don't expect a high grade but always hope for the best right...
