RE: If you could choose 5 favorite cards in your collection
I show my favorite Marino patches and Marino auto's... So I'm going to show my 5 favorite cards that are just that, cardboard...
1992 Football Finest "Chrome Patent Sales Sample" (Less than 10 made)
1998 Pinnacle Inscriptions "Inscriptions Autograph" One of two I have seen. The other one was forged. Pinnacle went out of business before the cards could be signed.
1998 Fleer Playmaker's Theatre #/100 - If you have never seen one of these in person, you are missing out. By far the most beautiful card set of the 90's.
1996 SP Explosive SUPER RARE insert card from 1996. A one in 2 or three case hit, with 20 different in the set.
1999 Donruss Preferred QBC Precious Metal Platinum. Only 25 made. OK. I lied. these are not all just cardboard. This card is actually made using one gram of platinum. VERY cool in person.
Trying to finish these sets:
1999 Upper Deck Strike Force Quantum /100
2000 Score Complete Players Green/ Blue
2000 Leaf Piece of the Game Preview 4th Down Isaac Bruce
2008 Premier NFL Equipment /25 John Elway
Let me know if you have any available.

Before I bought this card, I saw it on another Marino collector's wantlist 3 years prior. I was excited, as I LOVED the Football's Finest set and always wished Marino was included in the set. I was disappointed though as he stated it was a rumored card and that less than 10 exist. The other collector said he saw a picture of one once, but did not have a picture any longer. I more or less wrote it off, until one day I saw one on eBay. I placed a huge bid in and won it for $42. I couldn't wait to get the card in! I was puzzled as it did not feature the team logo. Nor did it say Topps on the front, so I waited to get the card in to see the same back as the factory set. Only... this is what I saw...
Although cool, I thought maybe I bought one of those unlicensed cards from the mid-90s.I searched "Signs & Glassworks Inc." to no avail. I kept staring at the front of the card. The only other difference was the patent number. I grabbed other 'Chrome' technology cards, the same patent. I looked up the patent number, and Signs & Glassworks, Inc. was involved in the original patent. Along with consulting some of my older dealer friends, I came to the conclusion that this technology was developed by S&G. Topps is the one that bought it and rushed to get the product out using the same original design for the set. I believe they used this Marino card as a Sample to sell to the technology to the card companies. If this is all true, its by far the coolest, most historical card I have in my collection. The first Chrome card.

Lots of great stuff posted so far! Let's see some more.
If anyone is interested, I can post my 5 favorite MLB cards AND my 5 favorite NASCAR cards (they are real good ones). I could even post my 5 fav. NBA cards, even though I stopped collecting them in 2000. I just want to see this thread continue.
Keep posting your FavFive, everyone.
