RE: Paying For Organize...But heres my Question.
so lets see..if there are 1,700,000 collections like the home page says(rounded down for simplicity) and if lets say there are lets just say 1/2 of the collections are single accounts & on May 11th they will charge $20 for each account..WOW that means they just got a influx of WOW you figure it out..$$$$ lots of it..THEY NEED TO FIX THIS SITE SO IT RUNS RIGHT FOR WHAT THEY ARE CHARGING...too bad somone else doe'nt come up with another trading site..oh well just my 2 cents..
I HAVE OVER 250,000 CARDS I AM ADDING , MOSTLY FOR TRADE..YOU DON'T SEE IT ASK FOR IT..1986-2000 ALL 4 MAJOR SPORTS |

Collections meaning the Collections in your Organize. There are roughly 50,000 users on this site, not all of them use Organize, some just use the forums, and others pay for the OPG so they won't be charged. Say you take the 50,000 and say 10,000 pay for the OPG. Now say 20,000 are accounts that people haven't touched in a year or two, or are banned members, or people who only come on for the forum. So now you have 20,000 people that might decide to pay for the Org. That's $19.95 a pop, comes to a grand total of $399,000. When you consider licensing, server maintenance, staff, etc., that gets eaten up quick. It's not as much money as some people think. MODERATORTOS-Read it

There's really no reason to justify or downplay the potential revenue Beckett will get from this. I think most people understand that the charge being implemented is reasonable for the service being provided. The issues are these: Is the service being provided functioning? Was a reasonable amount of notice given to users? Is it right for a "hobby" website to implement a charge for trading? I think Beckett has addressed the first concern by holding off on charging until after some things are fixed. As for the other two concerns; notice WAS too short and charging to trade is a major negative aspect of the site now. Looking for Habs Seq#'d 24/xxx MY BUCKET MY TRADEPAGE

I think most people understand that the charge being implemented is reasonable for the service being provided. I agree wholeheartedly, except for the trading issue. If it was just trading through PM or email, NO fee is acceptable. However, they are paying software developers (maybe I'm biased because I am a programmer as well) to write specific software for trade functions. For the most part, developers do not work for free and those that do, don't care as much about as efficiency as doing it for fun (from my experience). I won't specify how much I make at my job, but I'll say this, I make almost twice what Beckett is going to charge per year, in one hour. And I've only been in the field for 4.5 years. The developers they have are far more experienced than I am, especially in their specific language/functions. But yeah, if it was just trading through PM or email, then there should be no charge. RE: Paying For Organize...But heres my Question.
Yes, but they have outlawed trading on the FREE forums. Therefore you have to pay to trade.
