Major questions about Beckett Grading
I sent in a total of 7 cards, 5 being older pre-80's cards. All the pre 80 cards came back with just a overall grade. Since when don't they have the qualifiers listed on the label. Second thing on these cards is all the 70's basketball came back in these gahd aweful wide really wide holders. All my other older cards in that era that are beckett graded have the long slender type cases. Labeling looks rather cheap for beckett grading and gahd those 70's baketball case look gahd aweful for displaying
But the main thing that absolutely amazes me is that the two Mark Sanchez (Big Head) #14 score 2010, came back as just upside down autograph. Shouldn't they both be UER? And not mention of one (18/25) having the wrong back on the card.

RE: Major questions about Beckett Grading
An upside down auto isn't an error it is complete stupidity from an employee at a card company. Oddball maybe but not an error card.

The wrong back was the one I was mainly wanting to be graded as a error since it has the normal back and not the guarantee back. With a print run of only 25 a wrong back surely would be rather rare don't you think? And of the five cards I have seen every auto was upside down

Yeah probably the same moron that put them all on lol. I have seen some on ebay and almost bought a Ramses Barden with upside down sticker auto just to have it. Yeah the wrong back card would be really rare it there are only 25 made heck it could be the only one.

So now you know why I am both miffed and confused. Seems like with not only that A. I listed it as wrong back but B they had a correct version I sent also, but yet still didn't put on the label wrong back. Actually the wrong back had the better grade of the two 9.5 overall and 10 auto.

RE: Major questions about Beckett Grading
The Pre-80s cards are vintage, and thus don't get qualifiers, just an overall grade.

RE: Major questions about Beckett Grading
I'm guessing a 6 on a 1970 walt frazier is a fairly decent grade just can't get over the gaudiness of the holder they used to be long and slim simuluar to a top load. Now they are about 6 inches wide and just don't look right

RE: Major questions about Beckett Grading
Do you have pics of the holders they are in? I remember Beckett had a sale on Vintage grading so maybe thats why they had the sale, to get rid of some old crap.

Dude you got out a LOT better than me. I tried GA inc for the first time due to lack of money and I am totally getting hosed. I paid for a 20 day turnaround and Wednesday will be 60 days and they still have them. They also charged me and accepted a card to get graded and THEN AFTER 40 days I notice on my invoice that a card says "Do Not Encapsulate", so I asked them and the guy tells me they don't grade or encase that kind of card and they plan on send it back with NO grade, without being encased and they STILL plan on charging me for that card like they did the rest. I even asked and I don't get the FREE grading so I can have a pro estimate of condition and they REFUSE to put the card in a holder, I asked just to have it put in the nice holder and was willing to pay for that with NO grade and they won't do that. I asked for a partial refund too and it has been almost 3 weeks since they have wrote back.

Atleast your not me man and I don't know what you send but I sent 5 cards total, a $200, 2 @ $80, 1 @ $60, and 1 @ $40 so I'm not real happen they have had almost $500 in cards for 3 times longer than what they promised and are now ignoring me

You can send it back in and get it corrected. Send BGS an e-mail and explain it and I am sure they will fix it for you. They have corrected errors they made for me in the past. It will probably cost you S&H to get it there and hopefully they cover it on the return shipping.

The cards I sent in were not my major old cards just a 1970 Frazier, Jojo White and Oscer Robertson. A 1970 glossy Matt Snell and a 1964 Jim Taylor. Just the case are not of a standard old basketball nothing like the cases of some of my old basketball cards. Plus the two auto cards. Wanted to test the grading service before I missed my Pistol Pete and Alcinder rookies. Not to mention going to cost me out the butt if these old cards I am getting from the gridiron giveaway look gradeable

Thanks I sent a email to beckett explaining my displeasure the one didn't have wrong back on the labeling. Plan on callling them Monday. With a print one of 25 it could be the only one printed that way
