The Worst 2010 Topps Five Star Break
So, I was looking forward to this product to fill the Exquisite void. I was hoping to see some nice big multi-color patches and great veterans and legends along with rookie sigs. Then I saw some of the breaks here and on youtube. A lot of tiny window and single color patches. Then I decided to open at least one box. I'm not sure which I liked least...my Limited box break, my 2nd box of Plates and Patches or this. Do to the price, I would say this box wins. I thought everyone should see a $425 pack of cards that wasn't so great in case all those nifty breaks have had you leaning towards a purchase. The base cards are a bit of a ripoff of Exquisite. It's a shame when the base cards are probably the best cards in the bunch. I got one card for the PC....Jerome Bettis patch auto.

I hope to recoup some of my cost before buying National Treasures. Surprisingly, I did sell 2 cards this morning for around $100. I hope to find another $100 -150 so I won't feel so bad. Feel free to share my pain.

And I find it hard to find a booklet combo that couldn't be worse.

I wouldn't mind the booklet if you don't want it.

I DON'T CARE WHEN OR HOW MUCH A CARD SOLD FOR! If I don't reply, you're on the ignore list, as I'm not fond of wasting my time. I don't use dc on trades $40 and under.

That Jerome Bettis is selling very well right now on the bay. There's a few auctions up with 2-3 days left already with the bidding up to 60-70 bucks.

Collecting Tommy Z and ND Alums!

Unfortunately, I'm keeping the Bettis. He was one of my favorite players with the Steelers and it's the only auto of his I have. I kind of thought that would sell well because you don't see a lot of his stuff out there.

I'll keep you in mind if I decide to give it away.

I'm not sure that makes me feel much better. LOL. I think with high end products people are too embarassed to share those for feeling stupid about spending the money. I thinks it's a good idea to show the good and the bad.

+1
Thanks for showing the good with the bad. It takes a little courage but were all better for seeing it. I personally dont think it was that bad. You probably got about 65% of what you spent back if you decided to sell them all now.

If you decide to move the book I would be interested in trading for it. PM me if you see anything for it.

RE: The Worst 2010 Topps Five Star Break
Honestly I think Topps failed to get rid of the Red Zone autos earlier in the year so they've used the rest of their supply in Five Star. Very disappointing for such a high-end product.

But I do love the base design, patch auto design, and booklets. Sad your players weren't spectacular on the booklet but I love the fact that it's a quad-auto.

Thanks for sharing, Mel!
