Here's a few questions for you - I was going through my binder of cards contains mainly prospects and rookie cards and wondered if you can give me an update on a few players. I like to do spring cleaning and clear out the dead weight to make room for newer players. For former stars you may ask "Where are they now?". For these young players I'll ask "When will they be?"

I have a 2007 USA Basecard Card #20 of Andrew Brackman. Last I saw - he was in the Yankee system. How is he doing now? Is he still a potential major leaguer?

2007 Bowman draft BDPP93 Adrian Cardenas. SS in the Phillies system. Haven't heard his name lately. Obviously blocked by Jimmy Rollins. Is he playing well in the minors?

2007 Bowman draft BDPP34 Matt Dominguez. 3B in the Marlins system. He was supposed to be a potential power hitter.

What is going on with Justin Germano? Looking at his Fleer Ultra 2004 #382 makes me wonder what happened to him. He was injuried and I guess the recovery didn't work out? I would think with the current state of the Padres that any young arm with potential would be on the big club.

The 2007 Bowman Draft Chrome BDPP58 Jarrod Parker makes me wonder how his return from Tommy John surgery is going? Is he pitching in the minors yet?

Being a big Red Sox fan I am reminded of Jeremy Papelbon, Jon Papelbon's brother. The 2007 Bowman Chrome BC6 says he was in the Cubs system. Does it look like the majors are in his future? How about Josh Papelbon? The 2007 Bowman Heritage BHP67 card makes me wonder how he is pitching?

Should I pretty much rule out Mark Rogers from ever making the majors? Is it time to retire the 2005 Bowman #164 from my prospect binder? With the current state of the Brew Crew rotation, if he was doing anything, I would think I would have heard something about the former #1 draft pick during spring training.

My 2005 Topps Update UH231 makes me wonder how this over 6 foot lefty is doing?

I collect just main set cards - very little high dollar or short series stuff. I still enjoy buying a few packs at a time and seeing what gems make come out. I have a simple small website that shows some of my cards at http://bart73man.tripod.com/. I'm a Red Sox and Marlin fan. I consider myself an old school collector - I collect for fun. I'm aware of the prices, but if they where worth nothing, I would still get the same enjoyment out of collecting them.

oreowing64 Wrote:Hi Chris. Great sticky, by the way. Hopfully this hasnt been asked, as i havnt read every post, but i have a 2 part question. First, is their a way to determine the print run of a non serial #ed card, for instance. Last year, i pulled The David price, White uniform, card # 401B, from 2009 UD series 1. The card books for $100 (High Book), so i know their are at least 25, but how can you figure out if their are 50??? or 500?? Does UD know the production run or does Becketts???

Secondly, i wanted to know about Press Proof cards. Are these simply concidered parallel cards??? Or, are these the original proofs of a particular card, making them short prints???

Thank You in advance. Rory

Unless a company announces a stated run, there ultimately isn't one. Yes, in theory, everything is limited to X number of copies, but it's not all that responsible for me to speculate. There could be a few hundred, there could me more, there could be less. There's no way to know.

"Press Proof" depends on the product and company. Some manufacturers make actual proofs available in non-traditional ways (like the Topps Vault), while others make them as insert cards. It depends on what specifically you are talking about. (They could also be fakes...)

Your best bet is to check a few places:

http://www.baseballamerica.com

http://www.thebaseballcube.com

and  http://www.milb.com

All have areas where you can look up players to see how they have performed.
Hey Chris, I thought adding scans of the cards might be helpful. <a href="http://s893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/?action=view&current=IM100.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/IM100.jpg" border="0" alt="#IM100"></a> <a href="http://s893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/?action=view&current=52.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/52.jpg" border="0" alt="#52"></a> <a href="http://s893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/?action=view&current=106.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/106.jpg" border="0" alt="#106"></a> <a href="http://s893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/?action=view&current=106Back.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i893.photobucket.com/albums/ac136/jag4dwd/106Back.jpg" border="0" alt="#106 Back"></a> $0Thanks, David$0

I have a 2008 Topps Highlights AutographPrince Fielder card (HA-PF) and a 2008 Topps Highlights Autograph Fausto Carmona card (HA-FC). When I looked at Beckett, it said thatthere was PF Prince Fielder B2 & a PF Prince Fielder B and FC Fausto Carmona C and a FC Fausto Carmona E2. It does notstate what the differences are between the two Fielder cards except that one$20 more as for Carmona cards, one is listed at $15 and the other is not listed. Can you let me know what the differences are between the highlight autograph cards? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

Hi Chris:

I think my question was skipped.&nbsp; Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Joe

Is there a way to cancel a trade after it has already been accepted?
I am curious how often card value is looked at and when do prices get updated on Beckett?

For example list price for a 2005 Bowman Chrome Gold Refractor Martin Prado shows a high value at $20.00, however the last one just sold for $70 BIN on ebay.

Yes this is mostly motivated by my Prado Collection, but I have seen similar situations for other players either higher or lower.

Thanks for your time!

Ever seen a Bryce Harper Lithograph card? Its numbered 1/3 and created by Jonathan D. Gordon. Any help would be great.

Thanks,

Jon
