Autograph llist looks sweet.
But why add in some of teh same guys that were in Series 1?
A.Silva, Penn, Sanchez, F.Griffin, GSP, Florian, Bisping, Rampage, Couture, Alves, Vera, Royce, Kongo all had autos in round 1.
Nice to see they added some guys I like such as Wanderlei, Shogun, Big Nog though!
There are a lot of Autos in Series 2 and now only 2 Autos per box. Its going to be a lot harder to pull anything good in these boxes. I dont like the fact that so many guys signed autos for both releases either. Maybe being such a limited initial release they wanted people to have more of an opportunity to get some autos from their top fighters.
This is a more complete set. The way it should of been done with Round 1. Also it is not a continuation of the Round 1 set but a new standalone set. As far as having the same autos from the Round 1 set, it should not be something to worry about. Remember, the autos from the Round 1 set featured the fighters in their debut fights which were action shots. I hope the same autos from the Round 1 set will be of different fights and not the fighters debut fights. As far as the design, I think the round 1 set was a little better. The bloodlines autos look nice though. As far as the regular autograph cards, I like the way they made the fighter in color and the rest of the picture in grayscale to show who's autograph is on the card. Overall it is still a good set and it is currently sold out at some retailers. Topp's made more of these than the Round 1 set. Too bad there is only 2 autos and 2 relics now per box. Oh well, buy more boxes.
Jace,
I thought the exact same thing, and Topps knows that for many people the signatures that you listed were some of the main reasons that they bought the cards at all. No way were they going to give up on that drawing power just yet. It will be interesting to see if the Round 1 are considered the rookie cards and carry more value or if the newly designed signature cards will be as in demand as the last.
And just to point out one thing, Nog had a signature card in Round 1, it was the Dual Red Signature Mat Relic card (with Heath Herring.) And as far as I can tell that was the only star powered signature that was strictly released as dual card (meaning that Nog had no other auto card.)
