WOW! What a difference a week makes as Sox return favor & Sweep Cubs.
On a side note I finally had the FEMA inspector stop by to check on status of basement which took a BIG HIT from flods with sewage & now mold. I am in process of cleaning & sanitizing with power washer but lost a bunch of cards I had stored down there...:-(
Wondering what all plans are for upcoming 4th & maybe share some grilling recipes.
Mine is Pineapple Teriaki Chicken with bacon wrapped & covered in Swiss Cheese!!! Of course a cold beverage is a MUST! Is the A's guy still with us?

Awesome, sounds good! I'm going to the girlfriends parents for the 4th so I'm being cooked for instead of cooking for...
You can never go wrong with kabobs. Steak with onions, greenpeppers, mushrooms and maybe a cherry tomato or two... Chicken and pineapple (I'll have to try it wrapped in bacon...sounds good) or shrimp and veggies. The possibilities are endless with theses things and are more of a "fun" thing to cook. Put them on top of a pile of wild rice or something and you're all set!
How about a nice grilled T-bone and a Blue Moon? Cruel Drool!
Mike
My favorite is the steak tips (flank steak) marinated in Teryaki Sauce. I also enjoy Sausage (Sweet & Hot) with the cut up peppers & onions in olive oil with oregano/basil/salt & pepper) cooked in tin foil, serves on a fresh Portugese Roll.
Man, my mouth is watering right now!

Hey TCs:
Wayne: I'm right there with you buddy. I know we got some guys working hard and some of our folks are those of a few words (unlucky for you all, but I'm not one of them    ).
Yeah, I want to hear you guys. I lurk around all the time hoping to see what's happening out there. Floods in the Midwest, Fires in California. Bush in Washington, opps wrong disaster.
Anyway folks, how is Orioles Dan doing, and my buddy in Nebraska. Oh yeah. I saw that on the other site. Totally indecent. But seriously, I do look to hear from you all. With so many it is hard to keep track, but we have a new month starting tomorrow, and it looks to me we should be hearing from our beloved TCs.
On another note, I have some packages that I know have to arrive today. So I'm curious as to how well they fit your needs. I like to beef up PCs when I can.
I hope you are have a WONDERFUL day today, because it's MY DAY. MY OWN PERSONAL HOLIDAY. Yippeeeeeee.
All the best,
Ironman
Have I mentioned lately that... I LOVE THIS GROUP!

MAILCALL
First up was the sweeping White Sox Collector Tony C. who sent me great mix of Mid 90's Topps card that included some I needed as well as a large stack of Albert Belle's that I will pass along to a Belle collector I know. He also sent a cool 1977 Topps Indians Team card I didn't have and a 1984 Topps Cory Snyder USA Team card which again, very cool! He snuck in a Travis Fryman SPX as well as this little surprise I had forgotten about!
A five pin collector set with box of all Browns pins that is awesome and will look great displayed!
Next was a package from Randy with the you know what from you know where. The cards are actually from Eric as he forked over the cash for my part of the Indians and had Randy send them to me, I can't thank you enough Eric, you will be awarded some points in my contest for these!
Last was our active retiree Thom! Thom sent just an 8 card package but it was nice! There was a 2008 Bowman Jonathan Van Every SOTF Auto I didn't have yet, with as much Bowman that was busted I was honestly surprised one hadn't popped up already. He also included a very cool postcard, see scan below!
Yup! An autographed post card by none other then the HOF'er Bob Feller! This is something I don't have yet! I have an autographed picture but not a post card and it is very very cool! Thank you very much Thom!
One of my grilling favorites which I'll be doing on fri. is Bacon wrapped corn on the cob. Peel the husk back but don't remove it. Remove the silk, wrap 2-3 pieces of bacon around the cob and then pull the husk back up around the cob and take one strip of husk to loosely tie off the top and set on the grill. Cooking will vary depending on temp and amount of course. I usually strip it down and put the bacon on my burgers afterwards, good stuff!
I'll probably try to find some racks of babyback ribs as well, mmmmmm.
Happy Birthday Thom! We all love reading your posts. Keep up the good work. Can't wait to meet up with you and talk come September!
Jaycob, nice stuff. This is why I think the Thanks you's are so important. It is great to see what a generous group we all are.
I might have to try some of the recipes I am reading in this thread. Bacon and corn. Who would have ever thought that one up? Then again, bacon tastes good on just about anything! Mmmmm Bacon (in my best Homer Simpson voice).
Wayne
Sorry for back to back posts(nevermind Jeremy and Wayne snuck there's in there!) but this is in regards to Wayne's post.
I try and post every thank you and mailday that I get. I may have missed one since I have been here and if I have I'm sorry. This group is a great group of fella's (and Lady, I'm sure Nyla's lurking) and I like to hear from everyone. I try and post on a regular basis just because I like to hear and see what is going on with everyone else as well. I understand many of you are busy and can't always be as active as we or even you would like to be. But I have been here for 3-4 months and there are still some people I have not received anything from. While I'm not trying to call you bad members or anything like that, I am just trying to agree with Wayne and point out that it may be time to change your ways. Again, this is not made to step on anyone's toes but sometimes all we need is a little push!
Hope everyone is having a great day! Also, there will be the June winner announced over on Nim's site, they will receive a pack of unopened cards. All points will carry over to next month but there will also be a monthly winner!
