Good MAENing everyone. Monty, the pictures from Iowa are unbelievable. I guess I can deal with the high cost of living here in the Northeast and a little bit of snow in the winters. We are fortunate in that natural disasters are extremely rare in these parts. No floods, wildfires, earthquakes, tornadoes or hurricanes in our area for the most part!

I am not sure if your group is affiliated at all with the Wounded Warriors program, but my company has joined forces with them and is holding a conference in Jacksonville FL with 60 disabled Veterans, giving the help with managing their finances, advice on how to maximize their income and other tips. I also got a message from my HR recruiter that the Hartford is going to increase their efforts to attract Veterans for our workforce. Thought I would share. I knew I worked for a good company, but this makes me feel even better about being here.

Hola Amigos!

I just got back from Mexico earlier this week, been trying to catch up at work and home. The dang housesitter was such a donkey. It felt like we had a bad college roommate stay at our house while we were gone. We've spent the last couple of days cleaning up and assessing the damage done. It's shocking how lazy (numerous other adjectives removed) someone can be. Otherwise everything in Super!

Matty- My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

We saw the flooding on the Tube(in spanish) at the condo we stayed at, pretty horrible situation.

Randy- Great job on the break! Anyone have a rundown of the hits?

I've saved $6.41 so far this week by riding my bike to work twice!
8.33 miles each way
$4.23 dollars per gallon
car gets about 22 mpg

and I'm getting a nice short workout

my 1992 dodge van gets 20 + miles to gal . I also used to ride a bike to work years ago about 5 miles uphill both ways really !! on home trip I would coast maybe 2 miles . gas here 3.85

Wayne: Yes, I know of the Wounded Warriors. We don't work with them, but they do a good job. A lot of our former people run it.

Buddy tonight, right now in fact, we are going at it. St. Louis at Boston. After losing three straight to K.C., I'm kinda fearful for my birds. Can't lose another three and then move on to Detroit. Mercy. Be glad to get Pujols back, but not before Detroit. We probably will have Molina working, but it's far from even.

I have a bunch of cards that I got for Father's Day that I have to sort for all of you. So I'll be getting some packages out in the next few weeks. I have hopes for my B-Day too. Darling Daughters will come through for dear old Papa.

You all have a great weekend. I plan to rejoice in any win the Birds can pull off.

Haven't been able to check in, in a while, but I have a moment here, so I'm stopping by.

Maty, I feel for you man. I can't even begin to understand and feel what you're going through. You'll pull through though, you have a wonderful family at home, and a wonderful group here who will support you in any way possible. We're here for you.

Justin, I wish you the best of luck in whatever you decide to do. Hopefully you'll stick around. There's a lot of people here who care about you, and we'd hate to see you go. Besides, if Anthony needs to back down from Tier 1, what are we going to do with all these Padres cards?!?! Stick with it man, you'll be alright.

Wayne, how did the Xbox 360/Xbox Live deal go down? Did you end up buying it? If you did, shoot me an email/pm with your son's gamertag and I'll add him as a friend. Maybe some day we could get into a private match (just us, not a bunch of random people along with us), and we could chat for a bit!

Jeremy. Nice!! I also collect GU'd stuff, but no-where near the amount you do. I have a pair of GU'd gloves from a linebacker from the Missouri Tigers, a pair of arm bands worn by Darren McFadden of the Razorbacks, and a GU'd cleat worn and signed by Jamaal Charles, running back for my boys.....(drumroll for suspense).....the Texas Longhorns I also have signed (not gu'd) jerseys of Reggie Bush, Cadillac Williams, and my favorite...Stan "The Man" Musial. When funds open up (if they ever do with the price of stuff nowadays), I plan on buying some more gu'd and signed stuff. I'd love to see some pictures of all that GU'd stuff! That would be neat as can be!!!

Nah wayne slow time of the year in my line of work. it was nice though as many of you know I got my "man card" back in dec and this was my have fun month.
Congrats are in order as Wayne won the yahoo bball group!!! Nice little item or 2 coming ur way!!
