One of the most unbelievable hockey moments for me was when Mark Messier took Mike Modano out with a brutal shoulder to the melon, sending him spinning unconsciously into the boards... hey, hits happen... the most unbelievable part about the incident was after Modano was strapped to the stretcher... THE DOCTORS DROPPED HIM!!!

Absolutely unreal, you can check the video out on Youtube.

I remember that footage of him going out on the stretcher.  That was kinda funny.  I didn't remember who had originally hit him.
Must be something about Dalls Stars players getting leveled by opposing power forwards.

Anyone remember when Peter Forsberg did the same thing to Joe Nieuwendyk?

Nieuwendyk had his head down and Forsberg came flying in and just blew him up with a shoulder to the head, knocked him out cold.
Yea that was a good one, I prefer the Marchment hit on Nieuwendyk though...

or the time he took the glass-post to the noggin... OUCH!

When Patrick Stefan was on the break away with an empty net and missed!
Definately not too good for his "public eye" appeal

Not to mention his ego... I hear paper ripping...

The most unbelivable hockey momet had to be the injury to Clint Malarchuck.  That was gruesome. What makes it unbelievable was how he was saved: The trainer reached into his neck and held his artery closed.

Indeed, I actually posted this in Malarchuk's news section but Beckett removed it.
I had all 3 different videos posted aswell as the post incident interview with Clint.

Quite the graphic accident but goalies can look at the event and be thankful that it brought
about the neck guard. Definately a useful piece of equip!
