With another year coming for The Cup people like myself want to know if its worth buying a box or just separate cards that you like. With an investment like that what do you think the better option is? I dont have an unlimted amount of $$$ coming in and i have bought a box of 06/07 Cup last year and didnt get anything good in there. obviously i dont expect to pull anything crazy but i go absolute crap. Anyways i have been saving $10 bucks a week for the past months and now i am deciding what to do. buy a box or just one really nice card? WHAT WOULD YOU DO??

You only live once,... go break a box and enjoy the experience!!! That's if you have some PC cards you really like. If not, then buy a PC card first,... Tongue

I haven't had any luck breaking, but the enjoyment is everlasting! I certainly had to buy most of my PC cards.

GOOD LUCK!

buy a box

picking up singles while an economically sound idea has to be the most boring way to enjoy the hobby

busting an expensive box every now and again gets the adrenaline flowing and is actually good for you releasing endorphines warding off mental disorders:lol:

It's an expensive experience....but fun!
If you are into highend, you should bust 1 cup instead of 3 or 4 SPA, SPX or ice...cuz at least you will get better chance of getting something decent....but again it's also limited by your budget.

I bought a box in 05/06. Didn't get the greatest cards. In fact, I didn't even come close to making back my money but in the end, it worked out great. If I remember, I traded a Perezhogin rc redemption and a Gaborik auto/patch(very faded auto) to Gabbyguy(I think it was him, it was one of the big gabby collectors here) for a Franzen 1/1 printing plate(my first big Franzen card that got my collection of his going) and some other cards. Anyhow, I asked Derek to reserve me two boxes for this years product. (Now if he forgets and sells those 2 boxes away, I could care less)

Yeah. That convinced me.
Whatever.

Havent picked up a box in over 10 years outside of a couple cheap UD All World boxes and I enjoy the hobby just fine. If I wanted an adrenaline rush, I would skydive.

Not the best luck pulling stuff from a box but the cup i will always try at least one tin every year! The rush you get from a $350 product is like no other.
