I thought that this would be a suprising subject we all could discuss.
Does anyone else think that this has more to do with the the players union labor negotiations than meets the eye. Utah's small market could'nt make money and pay D-Will the max when his contract is up next year. Maybe it is just another small market to big market trade, but Utah traded one of their largest contracts and their franchise player.
Utah is one of the teams operating in the red. I doubt that they resign Big Al when his contract is up.
Believe it or not the Spurs are another of the small market teams that are operating in the red. They even have the best record in the league and IMO, don't have any bloated or overpaying contracts.
Any other thoughts?
