I got my Press Pass online newsletter last Friday and the headline was about a new product (Five Star) that is coming out in November. It looks really cool but also really expensive, has anyone heard what they are going to be asking for this?
I was gonna post the same thing. The site also says nothing about SRP. I'm assuming it's gonna be more expensive than Showcase but probably won't have a 2nd year b/c of the price. Looking at the per pack card list, it has to be WAY more than the $90/pack price of Showcase. I'm still not sure how much I'm interested in this product. I just feel the price is going to be outrageous.
If PP is gonna be putting out super premium sets, they need to eliminate several low-end products. I really wish some other company would challenge them. They only have about 15 releases per year for 1 sport of about 100-125 total drivers. They will run themselves into the ground if they don't start limiting releases or get some competition.
rumor i heard was at least 500 per box and one seller has a presale of 681 supposably. not sure if thats one pack per box or what.

i know a couple of traders that will be buying this product but most are waiting for them to hit the bay as singles
At that price, I won't touch them.
I know they eliminated two sets, but I liked VIP and Series 2 was already useless. I think they should dump some of the Wheels products and maybe Element.
Wow!!! The cards are cool no doubt, but I thought Showcase was about as expensive as most people could pony up for cards in this economy. After looking back at the newsletter, it only mentions five cards per pack, not how many packs per box.
I also think they could get rid of Element (the ugliest cards made in a long time IMO) and I really hate the negative film image (black and white) look they've gone to for the upper tier cards like four wide etc.
