In The Game Confirms Expo Redemption Plans
11/9/2005 4:23:35 PM

Collectors attending this weekend’s Fall Expo in Toronto will be in for a tough time from In The Game. ITG will be releasing a Tough Customers Super Box exclusively at the event. Each box includes a 25-card base set as well as one autograph and one memorabilia card. Collectors will be able to redeem their Super Box at the ITG booth for a special memorabilia card signed by one of three autograph guests, all of who are featured in the Tough Customers. Collectors can choose to have their own item signed instead but they still have to redeem a Tough Customers Super Box to get the autograph. There will not be any paid autographs available. Here are the guests and their times at the show: Friday, Nov. 11 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 5:00 pm to 7:00: minor league legend Bill Goldthorpe, who was the inspiration for the character of Ogie Oglethorpe in Slap Shot. Saturday, Nov. 12 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm: Frank “The Animal” Bialowas. Sunday, Nov. 13 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm: Boston Bruins legend Stan Jonathan. If you’re more of a memorabilia fan than an autograph hound, you can choose to redeem your Tough Customers Super Box for a 1/1 Tough Customers Memorabilia card. Quantities are very limited as only 55 of these cards will be available for the whole weekend. ITG also will produce more than 300 1/1 game-used memorabilia cards from the 2004-05 Heroes and Prospect product. In order to obtain one of these special cards, collectors will need to open one sealed hobby box of 2004-05 Heroes and Prospects or a sealed 2004-05 Heroes and Prospects Update Set. If a collector prefers the 2004-05 Heroes and Prospects Arena edition, they will need to open two sealed boxes. ITG also will be foil-stamping sets of last year’s Heroes and Prospects out of 10. Collectors may choose to redeem their Heroes and Prospects packs for these cards. To receive a card out of 10, one Heroes and Prospects Hobby version pack or two Retail version packs can be busted at the ITG booth.
