All in the Family. DLP Inks George and Barbara Bush

Beckett Media has learned that former president George H. Bush and his wife; Barbara signed autographs for the Donruss Trading Card Company. The company plans to include these historical autographs in its upcoming release, Donruss Celebrity Cuts.

The former 41st president, whose presidential library is located at Texas A&M College Station, provided Donruss with an event-worn Texas A&M t-shirt; the former First Lady provided one of her scarves.

Early Donruss Celebrity Cuts checklists indicate that both figures will be making their Donruss trading card debuts in the base set, accompanying parallel sets and material cards, numbered to 50. Currently 41 total autographs of each are scheduled(25 Gold Signatures, 1 Platinum Signatures, 10 Signature Material Cards and 5 Signature Combo cards).

"We are extremely excited that Donruss was able to confirm the industry's first official trading card agreement with a former president," said Donruss Marketing Director Scott Prusha. "This year's political race has been very compelling and garnered much media attention, so the fact that Donruss was able to contractually obtain the first official autographs or memorabilia from a president is something we believe will set our products apart."

Each pack of Celebrity Cuts ($150 SRP) will contain six-cards. Donruss Celebrity Cuts is scheduled to release April 23, 2008.
