BGS Announces Rate Increase
Jan 21 2008 4:34PM
Effective March 1, the award-winning Beckett Grading Services will be adjusting its fee schedule. On average, the price to grade a card will increase by $1 per card.
For the first time since its 1999 inception, grading fees will be slightly increased to help cover the rising costs associated with our products. Not only are the holders themselves a petroleum-based product, but transportation charges have also risen sharply in the last nine years.
Up to this point, BGS has absorbed all of these price increases, but with oil and gas prices continuing to rise, an increase is necessary. Turnaround times will continue to be guaranteed, and there will be no changes made at this time to Autograph surcharges, Graded Card Reviews, Case Removal fees or JSA/BGS service fees.
Due to another rate hike by transportation companies for 2008, the shipping and insurance charges will also be adjusted accordingly. Insurance fees will move to $7 per $1,000 of declared value.
Customers are encouraged to take advantage of the current pricing structure by submitting orders in the next six weeks. All orders received March 1 or later will be subject to the new rate schedule.
Following is the new pricing structure and shipping/insurance fee schedule:
