Gatorade Cards Hit Stores in March

As if we needed one more reason why it's great to be a hockey card collector in Canada, eh?

Upper Deck officials today have confirmed plans to produce a unique set of NHL cards for distribution with specially marked packs of Canadian Gatorade.

Each team pack of Gatorade has six bottles of different flavors of Gatorade, with each bottle featuring a different NHL team logo as bottle wrapper. Also included in each team pack is a free three-card pack of Upper Deck hockey cards produced exclusively for Gatorade.

Compared to most premium offers, this set is massive. The 91-card checklist includes 15 players from each of the six Canadian-based NHL clubs. The final card in the set features NHL scoring leader Sidney Crosby.

The set also features randomly inserted special versions of the Crosby card with a unique PIN Code. Use the code at www.Gatorade.ca to see if you've won a Sidney Crosby autographed replica jersey. There will be 25 winners in this contest.

All cards also feature UD static codes and are eligible for points redemption values through the UD Kids Reward Program.

These specially marked team packs can be found in Canada at Real Atlantic Superstores, Loblaws, Provigo, Maxi & Co, Fortinos, Your Independent Grocers, ValuMart, Zehrs, No Frills, Real Canadian Superstores, Extra Foods, Co-Op Stores, Sobey's, Price Chopper, Metro, Super C, Loeb, A&P, Food Basics, Longos, Safeway, Overwaitea, Thrifty, Wal-Mart and Pioneer.

The cards should be in-store in late-March, with the promotion running while supplies last.
