Topps Updates Lidle Card

Topps announces that it has reformatted the design of Cory Lidle's 2006 Topps Updates & Highlights trading card.

The morning before Yankee pitcher Cory Lidle shockingly lost his life in an airplane accident on Manhattan's Upper East Side, Topps was prepping his all-new Yankee trading card for a November 6th release. The next day, New York City-based Topps employees had a tough decision to make— what to do with Lidle's card that was ready to print? Although the card was shipping in just a few weeks, Topps felt that the proper thing to do was to pull Lidle's card and change the format of the design.

Topps made changes to include the words "In Memoriam 1972-2006".

2006 Topps Updates & Highlights ships 11/6 and carries a $2.00 SRP for each 12-card pack.
