| Keep in mind that the Online Price Guides are basically searchable databases.
This means that you must enter the exact search criteria to match the keywords that
are identified for each item. The less information you input, the more matches
you will come up with. On the other hand, the more information you input the
fewer matches you will come up.
For instance, if you are looking for cards of
Ozzie Smith, you would type in "Smith" and the database will come back with: Bubba Smith, Charles Smith, Demond Smith, Dwight Smith, Lee Arthur Smith, Ozzie Smith, Robert Smith, etc. You simply click on "Ozzie Smith" and your list of
cards comes up. You can also type in "Ozzie Smith" or "Smith Ozzie" to get the list of cards for Ozzie Smith.
For sets it works the same way. Your input must match the keywords for those
items. Therefore, because the keyword for Collector's Choice may be "collectors choice", "collectorschoice" or "collector's choice", you can input "collect"
or "collector" and avoid incorrectly entering the keyword. In other words, keep to as few words as possible. Once you enter "collect" you can choose to enter a
year or not. If you enter a year it will give you only that year, if you leave
the year blank, you will receive a list of ALL the Collector's Choice cards listed
in the current monthly price guide.
REMEMBER: You always want to avoid using punctuation marks in your queries
(searches) and enter the full year if you choose to search by year, i.e. 1998. |
